The tattoo on her shoulder is a symbol you often see on ambulances; it's based on the "Rod of Asclepius." Asclepius has healing powers in Greek mythology. Also, in the Bible, quote fskrealityguide's blog, "God commands Moses to make a bronze serpent on a pole to supposedly heal those bitten by serpents. (Numbers, Chapter 21)"
